Between July 25 and 28, 2019, the IWKA 2019 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP will take place for the first time in Europe in the city of London, England. The event is hosted by the Seishinkan Martial Arts USA (Michael Calandra sensei, Isshinryu 8th dan, direct student of Kishiro Shimabuku sensei) and Gosshin Isshinryu Karate London UK (R. Ramathas Sensei, Isshinryu 5th dan, IWKA director in the UK), and will have the presence and support of the president of the IWKA (Isshinryu World Karate Association) Master Kishiro Shimabuku, who will also be teaching technical seminars of Isshinryu with Calandra sensei.
The event, which is open to all Isshinryu groups in the world, will have participants from all over Europe, the United States and South America, who will take part in the empty hand Kata, Kobudo kata and Kumite divisions. Referee seminars will also hosted by Essam Shereif, Vice President of the WUKF (World Union of Karate-do Federation), who was present at the last WUKF World Championship in Bratislava.
Diego Rodriguez sensei will attend the event as a representative of Seishinkan Budo School South America and will be part of the WUIKA team (World United Isshinryu Karate Association) that in this opportunity gathers representatives from organizations in the United States (led by John Ingram Sensei) and Europe (led by Lars Andersen Sensei) and South America (led by Osvaldo Rodriguez Sensei). This will also be the first event to which WUIKA presents itself as a team, complementing in this way the work that has been developed over the last few years with the aim of serving as a platform for all serious Isshinryu practitioners (regardless of what organisation it comes from) to train under the aegis of regional directors around the globe.
The WUIKA team will assembled in this opportunity of Isshinryu students from the United States, Chile, Romania, Sweden and Denmark belonging to the different schools that make up the World United Isshinryu Association.
Seishinkan Budo School Europe already wishes all the participants the best of success in the event and that it also results in a magnificent opportunity for meeting and training for all the Isshinryu practitioners in the world.
